Following the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, Minister of Development Coordination and Monitoring, and State Minister of Digital Technology and Enterprise Development, Namal Rajapaksa, and a business delegation's visit to Kenya, the first two containers of coconut substrate products were flagged off today. The High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Kenya, Excellency ,Velupillai Kananathan, and the Chairman of the coconut development authority, Mr. Keerthi Sri Weerasinghe, graced this occasion. Bio Substrate (Pvt) Ltd – Madampe, a 100% Sri Lankan own company, is the producer and exporter of the consignment. Mr. Upali Weerakoon, Managing Director of Bio Substrate, described this as a historic event, as it is likely the first time a Sri Lankan company exports Cocopeat to Kenya.
